OK, I am posting this head to head comparison for only one reason. Reverse Mobile has updated thie "home page." What is so special about that? You can now search for a cell phone number by name - not just as a reverse lookup.

OK, head to head, Reverse Mobile and the Reverse Phone Detective seem to match up pretty equally. The main difference, is if you want to only check one number - the Reverse Phone Detective Reverse Mobile is still your best bet. It will give you the complete report for only $14.95. That is less than Reverse Mobile's one time fee.

However, if you are looking to find someones cell phone number and you only have a name - then you need to use Reverse Mobile. I like what they did to the site, I only hope this little tid- bit helps you out.



Remeber, there is no such thing as a free reverse cell phone number lookup. You will have to pay for it someplace. If you need to do that - One of thses two is the way to go :))

Reverse Phone Number Lookup or Unlisted/Cell Phone Number By Name

My Be Your Own Detective Site is now the easiest to use cell phone and unpublished phone number lookup. Why is this? I was able to create a search page to include finding cell phone numbers by name. It is worth a look-see. I believe now it eeks out Reverse Phone Detective as the best place to go for cell phone and unlisted numbers. This does only work in the U.S. - I am looking for great tools for the rest of the world :)

Real Life Feedback on Reverse Phone Detective

I know that I have gone on about the Reverse Phone Detective several times. The reason is - it works. It is the only online detective tool that I recommend that I have received unsolicited feedback on. So far - it has been all positive. The Reverse Phone Detective works as advertised. No real frills - it does what it says it will do.

If there is no record found - there is no charge - it is that simple. If you have need to find out who owns a number, and the 411 dot com and "whitepages" dot com do not do the trick - then use it. It really is not that expensive and it works. I highly suggest the one year subscription, only becuse if you need two or more lookups you get a better deal.

The feedback - simply was that the users had positive experiences using the reverse phone detective.

Reverse Cell Phone Lookup Scams

There are a lot of scams out there today, yes, even reverse cell phone lookup scams. Lets look at some of them.

First if they say they do it for free...it is a lie. I have never seen a free cell phone lookup. Yeah, it is free to search, just not free to get a report. As a matter of fact they give you basically the same report as the phone validator (I will go into that one later). So if it says Free - Don't believe it. Just search here on my thingy - to find the name will cost you, but hey, I am telling you up front it will.

What I found in searching 20+ sites, is they all lead to three regular pay sites. I don't think the pay site folks are scamming you, I think that people come up with phony "landing pages" to get you to a pay site. I say don't give those kinds of people your business, after all they got you there under false pretenses.

Then there was this place for $6.95. Way too cheap. I tried 3 good phone numbers - guess what - none of them worked. It seems that you need to pay for quality look up services.

If you find a free one that really works, let me know.

The old saying, if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is. That is true for this scam.

Reverse Phone Lookups

So you want to be your own detective? Why is that? Is it because of curiosity or suspicion? What is motivating you? If you plan on using investigation techniques to get back at someone or to harass someone, or maybe worse, then GO AWAY! For those of you that have legitimate reasons, welcome.

I will cover all sorts of things investigative. I won't make you a licensed investigator, but I hope to give you some decent tips.

First, I will compare reverse phone lookups:

There are three that all work well, and it is simply a matter of your preference. Many others out on the net are totally worthless.

The best in my opinion is the Reverse Phone Detective. After 100's of checks it proved basically
98% effective with reverse cell phone lookups and 97% effective on unlisted numbers. It is fast and accurate. The best part is - no information available, no charge!

A close second in my opinion is Reverse Mobile. It gives you good fast reports too. After hundreds of checks it proved about 79% effective. The price is the same for premium service which I highly recommend. It means unlimited searches for a year.

The next best, and about as effective as the others is the Reverse Genie. Reverse Genie has other reverse lookups (a real plus) but was just slightly less effective as the others purely on cell phone reverse lookups. If you expect to do all sorts of reverse lookups, perhaps Reverse Genie would serve you best.

Just a few years ago, as an Investigator, I did not have all of this instant information available, and a warrant had to be issued, etc. Now, you can do it on your own.
